Job summary

Transgrid is recruiting a Design Manager - Substations for the Hunter Transmission Project (HTP). You will lead the technical assurance, governance and delivery of substation civil design packages, coordinating reviews and ensuring compliance with project and Transgrid requirements.

You are an experienced Civil Engineer with expertise in high-voltage substations, earthworks, drainage, foundations and structures.

Qualifications

Degree qualification in Civil Engineering.
Experience in substation civil design, including earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations, structures and underground services.
Experience managing design packages through development, review, assurance and construction support.
Working knowledge of design management, quality assurance, Safety in Design and engineering risk management.
Experience with 330kV or 500kV substations, switching stations or transmission infrastructure.
Experience delivering major transmission or utility projects under D&C, EPC or Delivery Partner models.
Previous design management or technical assurance experience.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical assurance, governance and delivery of substation civil design packages.
Coordinate multidisciplinary reviews and resolve technical issues.
Ensure designs meet project, contractual and Transgrid requirements.
Collaborate with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver the project.
