Job summary

Enemix in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for a Tier 1 renewable energy project. This contract role runs for at least six months with strong potential to extend, and you will work alongside the Project Engineer and Construction Manager to deliver safe, on-schedule, high-quality civil works.

You’ll bring a civil engineering degree and 3+ years’ site experience in renewables or energy projects, with White Card.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer on civil infrastructure.
• Experience on renewables or energy projects is highly desirable.
• Experience with Tier 1 contractors is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, concrete, foundations and services.
• Knowledge of ITPs, WHS requirements and quality systems.
• Ability to read drawings and project documents.
• Excellent communication with subcontractors and site teams.
• White Card (CPCCWHS1001) and base in Adelaide.

• Set out works with surveyors and manage site records.
• Prepare and maintain ITPs, quality records and hold points.

• Coordinate material deliveries, plant and resources to stay on schedule.
• Flag variations, risks and delays and liaise with stakeholders.

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced, motivated Site Engineer to join a Tier 1 renewable energy contractor on a major project in Adelaide. This is a contract role running for at least 6 months, with strong potential to extend.

The role suits a hands‑on civil engineer with a background in energy and renewables, such as solar farms, wind farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), substations or transmission. You’ll work alongside the Project Engineer, Site Supervisor and Construction Manager to deliver works safely, on schedule and to Tier 1 quality standards.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Coordinating and overseeing daily site activities, subcontractors and work fronts.
• Reading and interpreting design drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Setting out works and working with surveyors.
• Preparing and maintaining ITPs, quality records, hold points and as-built documentation.
• Raising and managing RFIs and technical queries, and keeping track of design changes.
• Reviewing and putting in place SWMS, JSEAs and site safety procedures.
• Tracking progress, quantities and daily records, and reporting back to the project team.
• Coordinating material deliveries, plant and resources to keep the program on track.
• Flagging variations, risks and delays.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, authorities and stakeholders when needed.

Qualifications

To be successful, you’ll bring:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer on civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience on renewables or energy projects, which is highly desirable (for example solar farms, wind farms, BESS, substations or transmission).
• Experience working for or alongside Tier 1 contractors, which is highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of civil works, including earthworks, drainage, concrete, foundations, roads and services.
• A solid grasp of quality systems, ITPs and WHS requirements.
• Confidence reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with subcontractors and site teams.
• A White Card (CPCCWHS1001).
• A base in Adelaide or the ability to commute daily.

Day-to-Day

A typical day will involve:

• Running site operations so works progress smoothly.
• Working with the project team to resolve technical queries and design changes.
• Making sure safety and quality standards are met.
• Monitoring progress and keeping the team updated.
• Managing resources, materials and subcontractors to hit project timelines.
• Keeping stakeholders aligned and sorting out issues as they come up.
• Competitive day rate of $600–$650 + GST, depending on experience.
• Minimum 6-month contract with potential to extend.
• 10-hour shifts.
• Site vehicle provided for work travel.
