Job description

Take ownership of national submissions and bring your ideas and expertise to a well-established engineering consultancy.

  • Play a key role in securing new projects for a leading engineering consultancy
  • Genuine flexibility and a culture that values work/life balance
  • Greenhill Road location | WFH up to two days per week | Competitive salary
Who’s hiring?

FMG Engineering is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with more than 50 years' experience and a presence across South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

With a team of more than 180 people nationally, FMG brings together engineers, scientists, technicians and other professionals to work across a diverse range of projects. Their culture is built around integrity, teamwork and collaboration, with people encouraged to share ideas and contribute to better outcomes.

Importantly, this is a business that genuinely values work/life balance. Flexibility is embedded in the way they work, with options including working from home, flexible hours and, after 12 months, the opportunity to work a compressed fortnight.

So, what’s the role?

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end coordination of FMG's submissions nationally, from smaller EOIs through to larger and more complex tenders.

This is an opportunity to bring your expertise and ideas to the role – refining what's already in place, identifying opportunities to improve and continuing to elevate the quality of FMG's submissions.

In this busy yet rewarding role you’ll:

  • Coordinate EOIs, RFPs and tender submissions from start to finish
  • Establish submission schedules, review milestones and version control
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to gather information and develop strong, compelling content
  • Draft and edit non-technical content, including company information, project experience and capability statements
  • Format and produce professional submissions using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign
  • Develop graphics including organisation charts, infographics and presentations
  • Maintain the bid knowledge library, including project sheets, CVs, imagery and corporate information
  • Support the BD Manager with tender monitoring and coordination of BD and client meetings
  • Coordinate industry awards and proposals alongside the marketing team
  • Bring ideas to continually refine and improve the submissions process

While you'll be supporting the business nationally, no travel is required.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who knows the submissions space and is confident taking ownership of it.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Previous experience coordinating bids, tenders, proposals or submissions
  • Experience within the engineering or construction sector
  • Excellent written communication skills and a strong eye for detail
  • Strong Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills, with Adobe Creative Suite experience highly regarded
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise competing deadlines and keep things moving
  • Confidence building relationships and working with stakeholders across different areas of the business
  • A proactive approach – you're comfortable bringing ideas forward and looking for ways to improve
  • A genuine sense of pride in the quality of work you produce
What’s in it for you?

Along with a role where you'll have plenty of ownership and the opportunity to make an impact, FMG offers:

  • Work from home up to two days per week once established
  • Flexible working hours and a genuine focus on work/life balance
  • Access to a compressed working fortnight after 12 months
  • Ability for full-time employees to purchase additional leave
  • One paid volunteer day each year
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Training and professional development support - Employee recognition and service awards

If you're an experienced Submissions Coordinator looking for more ownership, flexibility and the opportunity to bring your ideas to a business that values quality and balance, we'd love to hear from you.
