Job summary

ASC Pty Ltd in Osborne, South Australia, is seeking a Trade Planner to develop detailed work orders for mechanical maintenance tasks on Collins Class submarines. You will ensure safety, quality and efficiency in planning activities across ASC and RAN systems.

The role requires a proactive, detail‑oriented professional with strong mechanical maintenance experience and the ability to coordinate work with stakeholders. Office tools and IFS ERP experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification or engineering technician background.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within shipbuilding, submarine or heavy engineering environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive problem-solver with ability to plan strategically and think ahead.
• Ability to interpret complex technical documentation.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with IFS ERP is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Review and determine correct maintenance standards and drawings to develop consistent work packs.
• Generate work orders and work scope in an efficient manner aligned with priorities.
• Ensure work can be carried out safely and reliably by relevant personnel.
• Liaise with stakeholders to prioritise and revise work plans as needed.
• Interpret complex engineering specifications, documentation, recommendations and work instructions to support planning activities.
