Job summary

Viva Leisure is seeking an experienced Studio Manager to lead our newly reopened Club Pilates studio in Hamilton North, Newcastle. You will drive member growth, operations, and a high-performing team from day one, creating an exceptional member experience and a welcoming culture.

You'll coach staff, manage administration, scheduling, and reporting, and partner with the brand’s leaders to deliver excellence in service, safety, and growth across the studio.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of and a passion for the Fitness Industry.
• Experience in sales and customer service in fitness or retail.
• Demonstrated people management and team leadership experience.
• Proven sales aptitude with a results-driven mindset and ability to meet targets.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with a passion for engaging both team members and clients to strengthen the brand.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Drive new member sign-ups, manage renewals, and implement strategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention.
• Ensure all members and guests receive high-quality service; handle complaints and feedback promptly and professionally.
• Maintain high standard of operational procedures. Manage administration, auditing and organisation of the club, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and fully operational.
• Ensure all activities, equipment, and facilities comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Recruit, train, schedule and manage in club staff; ensure high team performance and morale.
• Plan and execute local marketing campaigns, community engagement events, and promotions to increase visibility and attract new members.
• Oversee the development and scheduling of fitness programs and classes, ensuring they meet member needs and industry trends.

Viva Leisure, Australia's largest independent health club operator, is looking for an experienced and passionate Studio Manager to lead our newly reopened Club Pilates studio in Hamilton North - the final Rebalance studio in our network to complete its transformation into Club Pilates.

Club Pilates is powered by Boutique Fitness Studios (BFS), the official Australian and New Zealand master franchisee for the brand. Viva Leisure holds a strategic equity stake in BFS, giving our studios direct access to global Club Pilates programming, systems, and brand recognition - backed by the operational muscle of Australia's largest independent health club group.

As Studio Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day running of the studio, creating a standout experience for every member while driving membership growth, operational excellence, and commercial performance. You'll build a welcoming, inclusive culture from the ground up - one where members feel inspired, supported, and motivated to hit their wellness goals.

Leading from the front, you'll coach, mentor, and grow a high-performing team, creating an environment where people are empowered to deliver exceptional service. You'll also own studio administration, scheduling, reporting, and day-to-day operational priorities, setting the studio up to perform at its best from the very start.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with:

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of and a passion for the Fitness Industry
• Experience in sales and customer service, ideally within the fitness or retail sectors
• Demonstrated people management and team leadership experience
• Previous experience in a similar role (desirable)
• Proven sales aptitude with a results-driven mindset and ability to meet targets
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with a passion for engaging both team members and clients to strengthen the brand. Skilled in supporting diverse tasks and mentoring future leaders to help them achieve peak performance
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence through strong organisational and formal operational skills. Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively, with a proactive mindset, eagerness to learn, and agility in adapting to evolving business needs
• Ability to be a role model and live our Viva values, and behaviours while being passionate about our brands. You will demonstrate professionalism, respect, courtesy and support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
