Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a Student Support Officer to work within schools, enhancing student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and the school counselling service.

You will provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and contribute to whole-school wellbeing initiatives, and you will work with external agencies to create referral pathways for students and families to child and family support services.

Qualifications

• Must have a completed diploma or higher in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline.
• Knowledge of the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support to students.
• Deliver whole-of-school wellbeing initiatives and programs.
• Collaborate with external agencies and create referral pathways for students and families.
