Job summary

NSW Department of Education Regional NSW is recruiting a Student Support Officer to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and the school counselling service. The role provides individual wellbeing support and whole-school initiatives, working with external agencies and referral pathways for students and families.

Essential requirements include a diploma or higher in social work, youth work, or welfare, knowledge of Aboriginal education policies,

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and school counselling service.
• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and participate in whole-school wellbeing initiatives and programs.
• Collaborate with external agencies and create referral pathways for students and families.
