Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a full-time Student Support Officer at Wingham High School to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes. You will work with the wellbeing team and counselling services to deliver targeted support and lead wellbeing initiatives across the school.

The role requires a diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline, knowledge of Aboriginal education policies, and a valid WWCC.

Qualifications

• Requires a completed diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support to students.
• Work with the wellbeing team and school counselling service to deliver whole-school wellbeing initiatives.
• Establish referral pathways to child and family support services and collaborate with external agencies.
