Job summary

Alexandra Secondary College is seeking a Student Wellbeing Coordinator to triage and oversee student wellbeing needs, reporting to the Wellbeing Leading Teacher. The role is five days a week during normal school hours and involves close collaboration with welfare teams and external agencies.

You will manage support allocations, coordinate Student Support Group meetings, and implement strategies to meet individual learning needs while maintaining compliance with safeguarding and reporting

Qualifications

• Ability to use data to inform decision making.
• Ability to condense information from students, parents, teachers and outside agencies into useful reports such as Individual Support Plans.
• Ability to plan, organise and chair meetings with stakeholders to deliver focussed goals and strategies.
• Knowledge of mental health and neurodiversity issues and their impact on learning.
• Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and external agencies.
• Awareness of mandatory reporting requirements and ethical issues in schools.

Responsibilities

• Work with welfare team to plan support and events.
• Triage support for students and oversee allocations to welfare team members and external supports.
• Manage appointments and communications with in-school health programs.
• Refer students to external agencies (e.g., CAMHS, Headspace) and liaise with them.
• Coordinate information exchange between external agencies and the school.
• Arrange assessments to determine required support and provide counselling.
• Maintain disclosures and safety procedures, including mandatory reporting.
• Attend and chair Student Support Group meetings with Year Level Coordinators and staff.
• Attend SEAM meetings to monitor wellbeing issues and at-risk students.
• Support learning by implementing appropriate strategies for individual students.
• Assist leadership and teachers with mediation of student conflicts.
• Organise and coordinate Wellbeing programs for the school and groups.
