Job summary

Victorian Government – Keysborough Secondary College in Melbourne invites a Youth Worker to join the wellbeing team, supporting students across all year levels with 1-1 counselling, case management and targeted group interventions.

Under the Student Wellbeing Manager, you will deliver lunchtime activities, promote resilience, liaise with families and external services, and monitor progress to help reduce disengagement while upholding Child Safe Standards.

Qualifications

• Counselling and case management skills for secondary students.
• Experience in education settings and ability to build relationships with students.
• Ability to provide information, advice and support to coordinators, families and external professionals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Commitment to professional learning and growth aligned with school vision.
• Ability to promote safety and wellbeing in line with Child Safe Standards.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Student Wellbeing Manager and team to meet student needs.
• Participate in team meetings and referrals.
• Provide brief counselling support and case management.
• Develop case plans and set goals with students.
• Liaise with families, carers and external workers.
• Develop targeted group interventions and lunchtime activities.
• Support teachers to respond to wellbeing needs.
• Attend excursions and camps as required.
