Job summary

Noble Park English Language School is seeking a dedicated Student Wellbeing Officer to support students across multiple campuses in south-east Victoria. The role focuses on social and emotional wellbeing, early identification of concerns and collaborative planning with staff and families.

You will provide individual and small-group support, help students build resilience and maintain secure records, while working within school policies and mandatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, supporting the social, emotional and wellbeing needs of children and young people, including the ability to identify wellbeing concerns and implement appropriate support strategies.
• Ability to provide wellbeing support within established policies, procedures and professional boundaries, including sound judgement and escalation of complex matters.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, school leaders, parents and external providers.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate student records and coordinate wellbeing activities.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary school team and contribute to wellbeing planning and initiatives.
• Understand child safety, confidentiality and professional boundaries in working with children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group wellbeing support to students experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, engagement or school-related difficulties.
• Develop positive and respectful relationships with students and provide a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
• Support students to develop strategies that promote emotional regulation, resilience, engagement and participation in school.
• Provide appropriate wellbeing interventions within school procedures and monitor wellbeing concerns.
• Refer students to appropriate internal or external services when needs exceed school capacity.
• Engage in relevant student support meetings and contribute to planning and decision-making.
