Job summary

Macquarie University Hospital seeks a dedicated individual to provide operational and administrative support to the Inclusion and Belonging portfolio, overseeing around 130 student clubs and societies. The role includes event coordination, stakeholder engagement, risk management and governance improvement, with a campus-based, on-site focus that engages with university communities.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in business, education, finance, law or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of tertiary students and the Australian higher education system.
  • Understanding of first-year experience, transition, and peer support models within higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating major and complex student engagement projects, events and programs.
  • Proven ability to mentor or supervise volunteers or student leaders.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare clear documentation, communications and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project, administrative and event coordination and support to the Inclusion and Belonging team.
  • Coordinate student group events and other major student-facing activities, including managing registrations, coordinating rosters and training, arranging speaker briefings and facilitating venue and facilities bookings.
  • Support the induction, engagement and ongoing development of student leaders and representatives involved in student clubs and societies at university wide level.
  • Provide coordination and administration support to student groups, including record keeping, budget monitoring, financial administration, scheduling, and other administrative requirements.
  • Research and collate information to support the development of strategic goals of student commencement and transition.
  • Review and maintain the student groups website and social media channels, including content development.
  • Undertake reviews and evaluate all student clubs and their activities to support continuous improvement and alignment with Macquarie University’s governance frameworks, policies and regulatory obligations.

Job description

  • Annual base salary from $102,136 - $112,741 (HEW Level 6) plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • Appointment type: Full time, continuing.
  • Based at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.

We are seeking a passionate and self‑motivated individual to provide operational and administrative support to the Inclusion and Belonging portfolio in the delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of student groups, including oversight of approximately 130 student clubs and societies. The role supports event coordination, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and process improvement. This is a campus-based (on‑site), student‑facing role that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the University community.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide project, administrative and event coordination and support to the Inclusion and Belonging team.

Selection Criteria
