Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with diverse learning needs under teacher guidance at Springwood High School. You will help with welfare, health and wellbeing activities and support across streams including vision, hearing and bilingual programs.

The role requires Working with Children Check clearance and completion of mandatory Department of Education training.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check clearance required.
• Mandatory training by the Department of Education; willingness to undertake first aid training.
• Administration of Medications training to be provided as needed.
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments.
• Assist with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities.
• Work under supervision of a teacher to help achieve educational outcomes.
• Provide targeted support across streams/settings: pre-school, vision, hearing and bilingual.
• Promote strong connections between staff, students, families and external providers.
