Job summary

Xavier College in Riverlea Park (R-6) Campus seeks a dedicated Student Hub Technician to help operate the hub, assist with learning resources and ICT support, and create engaging spaces for students and staff.

Commencing January 2027, this part-time role runs 41 weeks per year, Monday to Friday 8.30am–4.00pm with a 30-minute lunch break; strong ICT and organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Library and Information Services (or equivalent) or demonstrated experience.
• Experience in library, student hub or resource centre support environment.
• Strong ICT skills and ability to support audiovisual and digital technologies.
• Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently, show initiative and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of the Student Hub and related services.
• Assist students and staff to locate and access resources and information.
• Maintain resource cataloguing, borrowing systems and reporting processes.
• Support use of ICT resources, including basic troubleshooting.
• Create engaging displays and learning spaces within the Student Hub.
• Assist with resource management, stock takes and acquisitions.
• Work with staff to support teaching and learning programs.
• Supervise and support students and volunteers in the Student Hub.

Xavier College is seeking an organised and proactive Student Hub Technician to join our Riverlea Park (R-6) Campus as a founding staff member. This is an exciting opportunity to support the daily operation of a vibrant Student Hub, assisting students and staff to access resources, technology and learning support services within a welcoming and engaging environment.

Commencing January 2027, this permanent, part-time position is offered across 41 weeks of the school year, working Monday to Friday from 8.30am – 4.00pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).

As the Student Hub Technician, you will:

• Support the daily operation of the Student Hub and associated services
• Assist students and staff to locate, access and utilise resources and information
• Maintain resource cataloguing, borrowing systems and reporting processes
• Support the use of audio-visual and ICT resources, including basic troubleshooting
• Create engaging displays and learning spaces within the Student Hub
• Assist with resource management, stocktakes and acquisitions
• Work collaboratively with staff to support teaching and learning programs
• Supervise and support students and volunteers within the Student Hub environment
