Job summary

Bray Park State High School is seeking a School Support Officer to support student engagement, behaviour and wellbeing. You will build strong relationships with students, monitor uniform compliance and attendance, supervise detentions and contribute to a safe learning environment.

A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with a proactive approach to working with young people.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising students in programs developed with Heads of Year and under the direction of the assigned teacher.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through observation and contribute to improved student outcomes.
• Refer students to school support services and other relevant personnel when required.
• Maintain high standards of work by following established procedures, including bus duty, patrolling school grounds, and escorting students to class as required.
• Build positive relationships with students through effective interpersonal and communication skills and participate in professional development.
