Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Structural Designer to join our Industrial team in Brisbane. You will contribute to resources, energy or heavy infrastructure projects, collaborating with engineers and designers to bring structural concepts to life from concept to delivery.

You will develop models and drawings for industrial facilities, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and support site investigations and design verification. A diploma or equivalent in structural engineering or drafting is required.

What you'll do

As a Structural Designer in our Industrial team based in Brisbane, you'll contribute to resources, energy or heavy infrastructure projects that make a real difference and be part of a multidisciplinary team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas and develops practical solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

You'll work alongside engineers and designers to bring structural concepts to life, contributing across the design lifecycle from early concepts through to detailed design and delivery. You will:

• Develop structural models, drawings and documentation for industrial facilities, including steelwork, concrete structures, access platforms and equipment supports.
• Turn engineering sketches, calculations, point-cloud data and project inputs into practical, constructible design solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, piping, electrical and civil teams to deliver coordinated, multidisciplinary designs.
• Contribute throughout the design process, incorporating technical reviews and helping maintain high-quality project documentation.
• Support site investigations and design verification activities, working with engineers, clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.

What you'll bring

• A relevant diploma, advanced diploma or equivalent qualification in structural engineering, civil design or drafting, supported by structural design experience
• Experience developing structural models and drawings for industrial, resources, energy or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in structural design and drafting software, with experience in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD or Bentley ProStructures highly regarded.
• Experience with ProjectWise and Autodesk Forma for design information management and collaboration will also be valued.
• A practical understanding of structural detailing, fabrication and construction, with strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
