Job summary

Rockmount in Smithfield, NSW, is seeking a Boilermaker who can read a drawing and perform tack welding on structural steel components such as columns, rafters and beams. The role is a 12-hour shift, with weekend work available and a genuine pathway to permanent employment with the client, via Rockmount.

The position is workshop-based in a well-established structural steel plant, requiring ability to interpret shop drawings and self-check work, with ongoing work through Rockmount and potential

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' post-trade experience in structural steel.
• Ability to interpret shop drawings and self-check your own work.
• Trade Qualification in Fabrication or First Class Welding (or equivalent years of proven experience)

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting shop drawings for columns, rafters and beams.
• Tack welding assemblies.
• Building fixture jigs to hold components in place for welding and assembly.
• Oxy cutting structural steel plate and sections to size, including weld bevel prep.
