Job summary

Foreshore Engineering is seeking a skilled Structural Steel Draftsperson with expertise in Tekla to join our team in Sydney. The role focuses on producing detailed shop and fabrication drawings, material lists, and ensuring compliance with Australian standards.

You will collaborate with engineers and site teams, revise drawings as needed, and support workshop personnel with interpretation of complex Tekla models.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Structural Steel Draftsperson with Tekla.
• Advanced Tekla Structures skills: 3D modeling and detailing.

Responsibilities

Foreshore Engineering is a leading structural and architectural steel manufacturer based on the Northern Beaches who are currently seeking a skilled Structural Steel Draftsperson with expertise in Tekla to join our team.

Drafting Responsibilities

• 1. Prepare shop drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and erection drawings.
• 2. Produce detailed bills of materials and cutting lists.
• 3. Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and relevant Australian Standards.
• 4. Revise drawings as required following client, engineer, or site feedback.
• 5. Coordinate drawing approvals and document control processes.
• 6. Provide technical support to workshop and site personnel regarding drawing interpretation.
• 8. Prepare detailed material take-offs for structural steel, miscellaneous steel, and custom fabrication projects from Tekla - stick beam model.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Structural Steel Draftsperson, with a focus on Tekla software.
• Tekla Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures software, including 3D modeling and detailing capabilities.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices for structural steel design and fabrication.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
