Job summary

Network Steel, a long-standing supplier to the Australian steel industry, is seeking a Draftsperson on a permanent full-time basis. The role supports customers and internal teams through the project lifecycle, combining technical detailing, estimating, problem-solving and service.

You’ll read plans, perform site measures, manage RFIs and contribute to quotations. Proficiency in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD, plus strong Excel/Word/Outlook skills, are important.

Qualifications

• Experience detailing structural steel for the domestic housing market.
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD, and the ability to read and interpret plans.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organisation, administration and coordination skills.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare layout and shop drawings, including CNC cutting and drilling data
• Read and interpret plans, complete site measures and resolve detailing issues
• Self-check your work against our quality standard before it progresses
• Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and maintain drawing files
• Complete cost checks to support accurate quotations and estimates
• Conduct drawing quality checks and investigate site works
• Respond to customer enquiries, warranty queries and technical questions
• Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and professional service
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to support efficient project delivery
• Follow company policies and contribute to a safe, accountable and customer-focused workplace
