Job summary

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in welding or equivalent experience.
• Experience in welding within a Construction industry setting.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings & technical documents.
• Skilled use/maintenance of welding equipment/tools.
• Knowledge of various welding techniques/materials.
• Familiarity with building codes/regulations/safety standards.
• Strong communication/collaboration/problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.
• Measure and mark materials to be welded using measuring tools and hand tools.
• Set up welding equipment including machines, gas torches, and power tools.
• Cut and prepare metal surfaces by grinding or other methods as required.
• Assemble frames or structures according to project specifications.
• Weld metal parts together using the appropriate welding techniques and methods.
• Ensure that all welds meet quality standards and inspect finished products for defects.
• Monitor and maintain welding equipment, tools, and accessories.
• Collaborate with other team members including construction supervisors, engineers, architects.
• Work in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
