Job summary

South32 is seeking a permanent Engineer Structural for its Cannington operation in northwest Queensland. The role is a FIFO position from Townsville or Brisbane, 8/6 day shift roster, responsible for ensuring structures are stable, compliant and fit for purpose across new projects, upgrades and remedial works.

Qualifications

• Structural engineering experience within an operating asset.
• Relevant field, industry or organisational experience.
• Knowledge of current occupational health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings, deliver presentations and facilitate workshops.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and calculations for steel, concrete, timber and other systems.
• Conduct site inspections to verify construction quality and identify issues.
• Assess existing structures and recommend repair, strengthening or replacement.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, project records and technical reports.

Civil or Structural Engineering qualification
