Job summary

South32 in Queensland is seeking a Structural Engineer to support our Cannington operation with an 8/6 day shift, permanent tenure and FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane. The role focuses on ensuring structures are stable, compliant and fit for purpose.

You will design steel, concrete and timber structures, perform site inspections, and prepare drawings and reports. Civil or Structural Engineering qualification and RPEQ eligibility are required to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status is required.
• Experience in structural design across steel, concrete, timber and other systems.
• Experience with site inspections and producing project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and calculations for steel, concrete, timber and other systems.
• Conduct site inspections to verify construction quality and identify issues.
• Assess existing structures and recommend repair, strengthening or replacement.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, project records and technical reports.
