Job summary

The Hobart City Council is seeking a Technical Officer – Street Lighting to support the management of street lighting, solar and electrical assets. This role focuses on maintaining safety, reliability and efficiency while collaborating with contractors and Council teams to deliver maintenance programs and asset improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV Electrotechnology Electrician with extensive electrical systems experience.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering or Asset Management with relevant experience.
• Current Driver Licence and Tasmanian RWVP required.
• Experience managing contracts and monitoring performance.

Responsibilities

• Support management of street lighting, solar and electrical assets to keep them safe and efficient.
• Assist in delivering maintenance programs and asset performance initiatives.
• Contribute to long‑term asset management plans and improve asset data.
• Coordinate with contractors, TasNetworks and Council teams.
