Job summary

Waste Services Group (WSG) is seeking a Strategy Manager to drive a portfolio of transformation, performance improvement and value creation initiatives across the Group, including running the PMO / Transformation Office.

The role will work directly with the Group Executive Corporate Development & Strategy, CEO and ELT to improve growth, profitability and operational performance. It requires hands-on problem solving, commercial analysis and execution to deliver tangible business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Tier 1 management consulting or equivalent.
• Proven track record solving complex business problems and delivering outcomes.
• Experience leading transformation, performance improvement or value creation programs.
• Comfortable engaging with senior executives and private equity stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Run the PMO/Transformation Office including governance cadence and reporting.
• Lead a portfolio of transformation and value creation initiatives across the Group.
• Identify opportunities to improve growth, profitability and operational performance.
• Develop business cases and investment proposals; support implementation.
• Translate strategy into actionable plans and measurable outcomes with senior teams.
• Track and report project performance with accountability for outcomes.

About the Role

We're looking for a driven and adept Strategy Manager that will take a hands‑on approach to driving a portfolio of transformation, performance improvement and value creation initiatives across the Group, including running the PMO / Transformation Office.

The role will work directly with the Group Executive Corporate Development & Strategy, CEO, Executive Leadership Team to improve growth, profitability and operational performance. The role combines structured problem solving, commercial analysis and execution, with a strong focus on delivering tangible business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Run the PMO / Transformation Office, including initiative tracking, governance cadence& reporting
• Lead a portfolio of transformation and value creation initiatives across the Group
• Identify opportunities to improve growth, profitability and operational performance
• Conduct analysis, develop recommendations and support practical implementation
• Prepare decision papers, recommendations and updates for the CEO, ELT, Board and sponsors
• Lead high-priority projects across commercial, operational and organisational topics
• Develop business cases and investment proposals to support key transformation initiatives
• Work with senior stakeholders to translate strategy into clear actions and measurable outcomes. Support the teams with problem solving and delivering projects
• Track and report on performance of each project – be jointly accountable with the project owner for outcomes

About You

Background & Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience within a Tier 1 management consulting firm or equivalent
• Strong track record solving complex business problems and driving outcomes
• Transformation experience will be valued highly, including strategy, performance improvement or value creation programs
• Experience in industrials, infrastructure, logistics or business services is welcomed but not essential
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on role across analysis, planning, governance and implementation
