Job summary

Waste Services Group (WSG) is seeking a Commercial Analyst to turn data into actionable insights that drive profitability and sustainable growth across Vic - Solids. You will work with Sales and Service Delivery to improve commercial performance and support pricing governance.

The role involves preparing weekly reports, forecasting, margin analysis and dashboards, partnering with multiple teams to deliver practical recommendations and reliable reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in commercial or financial analysis.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance or related field.
• Strong analytical, data interpretation and reporting skills.
• Advanced Excel with ability to present data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse regular commercial reporting, including weekly performance reports, forecasting, pricing, margins, renewals, uprates and performance commentary.
• Analyse key business drivers—sales, revenue, margin, customer activity and pipeline—to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support pricing reviews by assessing commercial viability, margin impact and approval requirements in line with pricing guidelines.
• Manage renewal analysis, uprate reporting and commission calculations, ensuring information is accurate and timely.
• Support tender activity and existing account improvement by providing pricing inputs, margin analysis and clear commercial recommendations.
• Partner with Sales and Service Delivery teams to turn data into clear insights, dashboards and practical recommendations.
• Maintain reporting models, templates and business rules to support consistent, reliable and timely commercial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse regular commercial reporting, including weekly performance reports, forecasting, pricing, margins, renewals, uprates and performance commentary

About You

• 3+ years' experience in commercial analysis, financial analysis, business partnering or a similar analytical role
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret commercial and financial data and turn it into clear insights and recommendations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to present data in a way that is easily digestible
• Confident working with stakeholders across departments, with the ability to explain data in a clear and practical way
• High attention to detail, with a strong focus on data quality, accuracy and commercial outcomes
