Job summary

Country Fire Authority invites applications for a strategic workforce planning and policy support role, working with the Chief Officer and senior leaders to lead research, prepare high-quality reports, and coordinate workforce planning across Victoria's emergency services. You will manage confidential matters, provide governance oversight, and coordinate with government agencies and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High level of political acumen and ability to think strategically while also being across the detail.
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate, lead through influence and prepare reports for Government Agencies/external publication.
• Extensive experience in managing complex problems with a broad range of stakeholders to find solutions.
• Extensive experience in providing strategic and operational advice to senior management.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to build and improve systems and processes.
• Strong analytical skills supporting problem solving and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Provide policy support and governance oversight on workforce, operational and organisational matters.
• Lead research and analysis; prepare high-quality reports, briefings and formal documentation.
• Provide secretariat support to senior forums and coordinate workforce planning activities.
• Act as trusted advisor managing sensitive matters with sound judgement and discretion.
• Collaborate with the Chief Officer, Deputy Chief Officers and stakeholders to support priorities and quality assurance.
