Job summary

Austal Defence Australia (ADA) is seeking a Workforce Planning Lead to drive the transformation of operationalising workforce planning for the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA). You will lead data-driven decision making, improve workforce optimisation, and shape governance, processes and data platforms for scalable SSA operations.

The role requires senior leadership experience in complex environments, ability to uplift planning maturity, and proficiency with workforce management platforms

Qualifications

• 5+ years in leadership of workforce planning in complex organisations.
• Proven uplift in planning maturity and forecast accuracy.
• Strong ability to convert data into actionable insights.
• Experience with workforce management platforms and BI tools.
• Strong Excel capability with Power BI or similar visualization.

Responsibilities

• Establish and operationalise a best practice Workforce Planning Framework for the SSA.
• Design operating model, end-to-end processes, procedures and templates for workforce planning.
• Define roles and responsibilities for the SSA Program and ADA organisation.
• Develop and maintain a robust data suite as a single source of truth.
• Ensure data access and availability to support timely decisions.
• Establish data management to ensure quality and defensible data repository.
• Design and maintain workforce management practices; ensure standardisation.
• Ensure workforce casting, scheduling and optimisation meet operational needs.
• Apply workforce planning disciplines across SSA delivery teams to keep risks current.
