Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads in Cairns region is seeking a Project Engagement Advisor to support the North Queensland Region's QTRIP. The role delivers strategic community engagement, media relations and stakeholder management across projects, with collaboration across staff and managers.

The role emphasizes developing engagement strategies, research materials, and executive communications while enabling flexible working arrangements and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current holder of a Class C driver licence.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
• Pre-employment checks including serious discipline history may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic engagement advice to the District Director, project managers and staff.
• Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement for QTRIP projects.
• Prepare engagement materials, media responses, releases, briefing notes and reports.
• Plan and coordinate community events, road openings, roadshows and media opportunities.
• Build strong customer-focused relationships across business areas.
