Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD is seeking Project Engagement Advisors to support major road and transport infrastructure in Central Queensland, based in Mackay or Rockhampton. You will deliver strategic communication and stakeholder engagement across diverse projects, ensuring communities and decision-makers stay informed and supported.

• Experience delivering strategic communications for infrastructure projects.
• Ability to build relationships with communities, local government and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to advise project teams on engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic communication and stakeholder engagement advice to project teams and leadership.
• Develop and deliver communication and engagement strategies for infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate community consultation activities, events, road openings and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Prepare project communications, media responses, briefing notes, executive correspondence and other communication materials.
• Build productive relationships with community members, local government, industry stakeholders and internal teams.
• Identify and manage emerging issues and risks impacting project delivery and reputation.
• Support a customer-focused culture by sharing knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement.
