Job summary

Waypoint Digital, a boutique SEO and AI search agency based in Melbourne’s west, is seeking a Senior Account Manager to own client relationships and shape growth. You’ll connect client goals with strategy, lead conversations, and coordinate delivery, ensuring thoughtful advice and consistent follow-through.

You’ll work closely with the founder to spot opportunities, challenge approaches, and bring recommendations. This is a senior role with meaningful client impact.

Qualifications

• Proven agency-side experience managing client relationships and digital marketing accounts.
• Strong practical SEO knowledge across technical fundamentals, content, on-page optimization, and measurement.
• Understanding of AI search and its impact on client strategy.
• Ability to discuss websites, Google Ads, content, and multi-channel interactions with clients.
• Experience juggling multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication with non-technical clients.
• Commercial judgement and ability to set expectations and handle difficult conversations.
• Initiative, organization and responsibility for client outcomes.
• Experience coordinating remote specialists and improving account-management processes would be valuable.

Responsibilities

• Be the main ongoing contact, lead meetings, manage expectations and build a strong understanding of each client’s business.
• Turn business goals into clear SEO and AI search plans, with practical briefs and measurable objectives.
• Brief specialists, prioritise work, monitor progress and keep quality, deadlines and commitments on track.
• Explain performance in plain English, connect results to business outcomes and recommend what happens next.
• Identify underperformance, delivery gaps and client concerns early, then take responsibility for resolving them.
• Build lasting relationships and identify additional services where they genuinely support the client’s goals.
• Help improve our processes, communication and client experience as the agency grows.
