Job summary

Randstad Pty in Adelaide is seeking a highly organised Purchasing Officer to join a fast-paced supply chain team. You will generate, place and expedit e POs through ERP, monitor inventory and push cost-saving initiatives.

This role requires strong negotiation and communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with production planners, warehouse and engineering colleagues to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in Purchasing or Procurement within manufacturing/ heavy industry.
• Proficiency using ERP systems for generating POs and inventory tracking.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with suppliers.
• Detail-oriented in resolving invoice discrepancies or quality non-conformances.
• Collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams including warehouse and production.

Responsibilities

• Generate, place and expedit e POs via ERP based on real-time needs.
• Monitor inventory to prevent shortages and downtime.
• Track and report supplier metrics.
• Collaborate daily with production planners, warehouse and engineers.
• Own damaged parts, manage returns and disputes.
• Resolve invoice/receipt discrepancies with Accounts Payable.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Ensure suppliers comply with sustainability, quality and corporate standards.
