Job summary

ANSPEC Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on Purchasing Officer to manage purchasing and inventory planning across our product range. You will ensure the right stock is in the right place at the right time and cost, working closely with suppliers, warehouse, sales and finance.

You will raise purchase orders, forecast stock, maintain SAP data, expedite shipments and negotiate terms. The role supports a collaborative team in a fast-moving healthcare and industrial supply environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in purchasing, buying, planning or inventory control.
• Mandatory police check for applicants.
• Solid understanding of procurement and inventory planning principles.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management.
• Good written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• SAP highly desirable, otherwise alternate ERP experience.
• Pharmaceutical/healthcare supply chain experience a bonus.
• Tertiary qualification in business desirable.

Responsibilities

• Raise, place and manage purchase orders with local and overseas suppliers.
• Plan stock levels using forecasts, sales history and lead times to avoid stock-outs and excess.
• Maintain accurate item, supplier and pricing data in SAP.
• Expedite orders, track shipments and resolve delivery, quantity or invoice discrepancies.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQs and terms, and evaluate supplier performance.
• Monitor slow-moving, short-dated and expiring stock and recommend actions.
• Report on inventory levels, open orders and supplier KPIs.
