Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Account Executive to drive growth and deepen relationships within the ANZ Public Sector, managing a portfolio of government accounts and delivering revenue targets while guiding cloud transformation.

You will work with Solutions Architects and Partner teams to map AWS solutions to client challenges, navigate procurement processes, and present business reviews to sales leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and implementing long-term transformational account strategies in a customer-facing role or equivalent.
• Experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
• Experience in oral and written communication.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience working with technology customers, such as software providers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute account plans for assigned public sector customers, driving revenue growth and cloud adoption
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (Director/SES level) across government agencies
• Manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver customer outcomes
• Identify customer business challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value
• Navigate government procurement processes including panel arrangements, RFPs/RFTs, and standing offers
• Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership on a regular cadence
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing, process improvement, and best practice development
• Represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums
• Stay informed on public sector trends including digital strategy, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and AI/ML adoption
• Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
