Job summary

The Queensland Government is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major infrastructure projects from conception through delivery. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, engage with advisors and stakeholders, and ensure time, cost, and quality targets are met.

Mandatory qualifications include extensive project/program leadership and strong contract management expertise. You will provide strategic advice to senior leadership and represent the principal in delivery contracts.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading major projects or programs of works.
• Strong contract and project management knowledge.
• Experience in infrastructure delivery or engineering operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Desirable: Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning, design, development, and implementation phases of projects with stakeholders.
• Monitor and report progress against time, cost, and quality specifications.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors to meet delivery and budget targets.
• Investigate and resolve complex project issues to improve performance and value for money.
• Coordinate submissions and reports on planning and technical issues; identify mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to public consultation and liaise with communities and local governments.
• Provide specialist advice to senior leadership and present technical information.
• Select, engage, and procure consultants and contractors; manage procurement processes.
• Promote project culture and manage the total project plan for integration across HR, scope, time, risk, and quality.
• Act as Representative of the Principal for delivery contracts at development/implementation phases.
