Job summary

North Projects is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager to join our Queensland team. You will provide practical advice on constructability, programming, estimating and pre-contracts across major infrastructure projects in Australia and New Zealand.

The role suits an experienced Project Engineer/Manager from a contractor background transitioning to a consulting environment, delivering value across roads and rail sectors with a focus on project delivery and pre-contracts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Significant project delivery on major civil infrastructure projects, ideally with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor background.
• Experience in road and/or rail infrastructure with broader civil exposure welcomed.
• Experience in pre-contracts, tendering or pre-construction activities.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, staging, sequencing and temporary works.
• Experience in cost estimating and budget development, reviewing quantities and methods.
• Familiarity with AACE estimate classifications (Class 5 to Class 1).
• Sound commercial judgement and ability to challenge inputs and clarify scope.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal client communication.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on tender programme development, constructability reviews and risk analysis.
• Undertake constructability reviews, sequencing, temporary works, and programme optimisation.
• Support development and review of project cost estimates and budgets.
• Participate in estimate reviews, challenging assumptions and productivity rates.
• Provide pre-construction support including programme development and design integration.
• Assist in refining pre-construction management plans for delivery readiness.
