Job summary

Livingstone Shire Council in Yeppoon is seeking a Project Accountant to drive the financial performance of the council's capital projects, acting as the financial link between Accounting, Assets and the Portfolio Management Office to turn concepts into completed programs.

You will bring strong project accounting experience, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, with advanced Excel and ERP skills (TechnologyOne, Oracle or similar), and CPA/CA ANZ progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in project accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience (TechnologyOne, Oracle or similar).
• CPA or CA ANZ membership or progress toward qualification.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing the full financial lifecycle of capital projects, including budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and financial reporting.
• Partnering with Accounting, Strategic Asset Management and Portfolio Management Office to coordinate budgets, funding and performance.
• Monitoring and managing reserve funds, including forecasting income and tracking expenditure.
• Analysing project and financial data to support long-term planning and asset management outcomes.
• Maintaining the integrity of project finance systems and driving process improvements.
• Supporting month-end reporting, reconciliations, audits and GL maintenance.
