Job summary

Talent in Melbourne is seeking a Project Accountant to lead the finance workstream for a major systems implementation in a complex public sector environment.

The role focuses on management accounting, governance, reconciliations and financial reporting to senior stakeholders, with oversight across projects and risks. It is a contract role through to end-Feb 2027, offering exposure to ERP implementations and large data sets.

Qualifications

• Extensive management accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Strong experience with financial governance, reconciliations, controls, audit readiness and compliance.
• Experience contributing to or leading the finance workstream of a complex project or transformation.
• Exposure to ERP, financial or management systems implementations or upgrades.
• Advanced analytical skills and experience working with large volumes of financial data.
• CPA, CA or postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded
• Prior experience in Vic Gov.
