Job summary

Lawson Elliott Recruitment is seeking a Project Accountant in Brisbane to bolster the finance team. You will analyse project financials, provide insights to project managers and participate in financial decision-making during project meetings.

The role supports live dashboards and reporting via Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Jet Reporting, aligning with cost control and commercial outcomes for large-scale Australian projects.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified accountant with project accounting experience.
• Exposure to Business Central or the Dynamics suite.
• Strong financial analytics and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse project actuals, budgets, forecasts and trends to identify risks and opportunities.
• Support project managers and senior stakeholders with financial insights and recommendations.
• Act as the finance representative in project meetings to guide operational decisions.
• Partner with Project Managers and Senior Project Controller to monitor performance, margins and outcomes.
• Develop and improve live dashboards and reporting in Microsoft tools including Business Central and Jet Reporting.

This successful operational business with numerous large-scale projects in Australia is growing and solidifying their reputation in the market.

About the Role:

With a nimble and well qualified finance team, they have been able to enable and support the business with commercial insights and guidance. This immediate contract need for Project Accountant is to offer strengthened support to Project Managers and Cost Controllers.

Analyse project actuals, budgets, forecasts, and financial trends to identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring attention.

Support project managers and senior stakeholders with financial insights, interpretation of results, and commercial recommendations.

Act as the finance representative in project meetings, providing financial guidance and supporting operational decision-making.

Partner with Project Managers and the Senior Project Controller to monitor project performance, cost control, margins, and financial outcomes.

Assist with the development and continuous improvement of live financial dashboards and reporting capabilities within Microsoft Business Central, Jet Reporting, and associated Microsoft tools.

About You:

You will be a CA/ CPA qualified Accountant with project accounting experience, must have exposure to Business Central or the Dynamics suite.
