Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads in Mackay region seeks a Principal Advisor (Program) to oversee major transport investments. You will provide strategic advice, monitor delivery performance, analyse outcomes and guide decision-making with senior leaders across Central Queensland.

Based in Mackay, you will coordinate reviews, identify risks, and implement improvements to ensure projects stay on time and within budget while aligning to government priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in program, project or business management.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to synthesise information and communicate insights for informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on program and project performance, including financial and delivery outcomes.
• Analyse key milestones, project financials and performance indicators to identify risks, trends and opportunities.
• Coordinate and undertake project reviews to assess compliance with established program management requirements.
• Provide high-level advice and recommendations on program performance and improvement opportunities to senior leaders.
• Support the development and implementation of business improvement initiatives that strengthen program delivery.
• Prepare and review reports, briefings, submissions and correspondence on behalf of the Director.
• Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
