Job summary

Mega Electrics AUS is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage day-to-day procurement, align staff with financial controls, and integrate purchasing platforms and systems. You will bridge Finance, Delivery, Administration and Operations to close gaps and optimise processes.

The role focuses on PO management, supplier onboarding, spend tracking and reporting, with opportunities to improve efficiency and data accuracy across the business.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in procurement, purchasing, or financial operations.
• Advanced Excel skills and Microsoft Suite proficiency.
• Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain.
• Empathetic approach balancing policy with supportive change management.
• Investigate data anomalies and fix root causes of gaps.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow procedures and processes.
• Proactive, capable of working independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage all Purchase Orders from employees; ensure invoicing and correct claim cycles.
• Track commitment spend vs actuals; flag overruns before finalisation.
• Assist in supplier onboarding and maintain vendor master data.
• Manage and grow supplier accounts and relationships.
• Negotiate terms with suppliers and resolve pricing discrepancies.
• Identify and close gaps between timesheets, works, and client schedules.
• Correct misattributions with Finance guidance on platforms.
• Triangulate client systems, receipts, invoices and Mega platforms to prevent unbilled liabilities.
• Serve as the contact for Purchase Orders, Work Orders, and New Suppliers.
• Create and maintain reports and dashboards as needed.
