Job summary

Talenza is seeking a Privacy Manager to lead privacy capability uplift within a large, regulated Data & AI team in Brisbane. You will drive privacy-by-design, manage privacy risk frameworks and guide delivery teams on privacy controls.

This permanent hybrid role offers exposure to AI governance, strong stakeholder engagement and a chance to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice. You will collaborate across technology, risk and legal to ensure compliant data handling,

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience in privacy and data protection.
• Strong working knowledge of the Privacy Act and Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
• Knowledge of APRA prudential standards and regulatory expectations.
• Experience operating privacy risk frameworks, controls, and privacy-by-design practices.
• Experience conducting/overseeing privacy impact assessments.
• Experience handling privacy complaints and notifiable data breach obligations.
• Exposure to regulatory engagement and responding to regulatory enquiries.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate legal/technical concepts into practical business advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to uplift privacy capability, frameworks and operating practices.
• Maintain and improve privacy risk frameworks, controls and privacy-by-design standards.
• Oversee privacy impact assessments and provide guidance to delivery teams and stakeholders.
• Manage privacy complaints handling and associated governance/reporting.
• Lead/coordinate notifiable data breach obligations, including assessment and response support.
• Support regulatory engagement, including responding to enquiries and coordinating internal inputs.
• Partner across Data & AI, technology and business teams to embed privacy into initiatives and decision-making.
• Contribute to AI governance / AI risk activities where relevant (highly regarded)
