Job summary

Department of Social Services in Canberra is seeking a policy professional to join the Strategy and Delivery Branch. You will lead strategic policy projects, design and deliver high-quality policy training initiatives, and contribute to evidence-informed policymaking and capability uplift.

The successful candidate will work with policy, delivery, data and corporate teams across the department, supervise APS staff, and represent the team at meetings.

Responsibilities

• lead components of strategic policy projects
• identify and apply evidence, research and data to support policy development and decision-making
• prepares high-quality and influential written advice, presentations, and new policy proposals
• contribute to the design and delivery of policy capability and training programs across DSS
• work collaboratively with policy, delivery, data and corporate teams across the department and represents our team at meetings
• build relationships with stakeholders across government and the APS
• supervise and coach APS staff
