Job summary

Department of Employment and Workplace Relations is seeking SES Band 1 leaders to shape policy, lead delivery and build organisational capability across multiple business areas. You will translate government priorities into outcomes and provide high‑quality advice to senior decision‑makers.

Roles may be located in Canberra or other major capitals; candidates from other cities are encouraged. Suitably experienced leaders will drive strategic direction and stakeholder collaboration across the APS

Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record of executive leadership, strategic judgement and delivery.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or professional accreditations may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Shape policy and drive delivery while building organisational capability.
• Translate government priorities into meaningful outcomes for Australians.
• Lead across DEWR and external organisations to create shared ownership of outcomes.
• Provide high‑quality advice to senior decision‑makers and uphold accountability.
• Develop future leaders and contribute to departmental priorities and stewardship.
