Job summary

IAG is seeking a Strategic Platforms Manager to lead the platforms powering our future state across Australia. You’ll drive modernization, build capable teams, and partner with senior stakeholders, vendors and technology groups to shape platform strategy and delivery.

In this permanent, full-time role, you will oversee major programs, ensure scalable and secure platform evolution, and steer investment governance to maximise business value through technology.

This is a permanent full-time role based in multiple locations across Australia.

What You’ll Do

• Define and drive the vision, roadmap, and investment strategy for strategic platforms aligned to business growth and transformation goals.
• Lead platform modernisation and uplift initiatives that improve capability, simplify technology environments, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Build and lead high performing teams, developing internal capability and curiosity into the fast changing technical landscape through AI and Engineering practices, creating an environment where people can thrive through change.
• Partner with senior stakeholders, vendors, and technology teams to shape future platform requirements and achieve shared outcomes.
• Oversee major programs and platform evolution, ensuring solutions remain scalable, secure, and fit for future needs.
• Guide investment prioritisation, governance, and portfolio performance to maximise the value delivered from technology investments.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience leading large scale technology transformation or modernisation programs.
• Strong people leadership skills with a focus on building capability and engagement.
• Confidence navigating ambiguity and bringing clarity during periods of change.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex partner relationships.
• Knowledge of software delivery, agile ways of working, and technology operating environments and curiosity into the fast changing technical landscape through AI and Engineering practices
• Commercial and vendor management experience that supports successful delivery outcomes.
• An enterprise mindset with curiosity, strategic thinking, and a drive for continuous improvement.
