Job summary

Auto & General (A&G) is seeking a People Business Partner to work with frontline operations in North Lakes, delivering the people plan and driving commercial people solutions.

You will partner with leaders to implement P&C initiatives, manage end-to-end employee relations, and interpret awards and enterprise agreements in collaboration with Centres of Excellence. This position supports a hybrid work arrangement and focuses on culture, development, and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in HR, Law, Business or related field.
• Min 3–5 years' experience in a HR generalist or People Business Partner role.
• Confident and influential communicator with an ability to engage effectively with leaders.
• Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end employee relations cases and providing advice on employment law matters.
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements, modern awards, and relevant HR legislation.
• Ability to balance conflicting priorities within a changing environment.
• Commercial acumen, high attention to detail and ability to synthesize information for insights.
• Discretion and confidentiality are mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite/Google Workspace and HRIS.

Responsibilities

• Drives the delivery of the functional People Plan in close coordination with the People Advisor.
• Actively partner with business unit leaders to translate strategic objectives into practical P&C initiatives.
• Drive the implementation of key P&C programmes within assigned business units.
• Provide advice on talent management, performance management, engagement, compensation and org design.
• Collaborate with P&C Centres of Excellence to ensure integrated delivery of services.
• Act as a P&C representative for cyclical HR activities and guide leaders through processes.
• Maintain oversight of end-to-end ER cases with investigations, disciplinary actions and grievances.
• Provide proactive advice on employee and industrial relations issues, interpreting relevant awards and legislation.
