Job summary

Auto & General (A&G) is seeking a People Business Partner to work with frontline operations in North Lakes, delivering the people plan and driving commercial people solutions.

You will partner with leaders to implement P&C initiatives, manage end-to-end employee relations, and interpret awards and enterprise agreements in collaboration with Centres of Excellence. This position supports a hybrid work arrangement and focuses on culture, development, and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in HR, Law, Business or related field.
• Min 3–5 years' experience in a HR generalist or People Business Partner role.
• Confident and influential communicator with an ability to engage effectively with leaders.
• Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end employee relations cases and providing advice on employment law matters.
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements, modern awards, and relevant HR legislation.
• Ability to balance conflicting priorities within a changing environment.
• Commercial acumen, high attention to detail and ability to synthesize information for insights.
• Discretion and confidentiality are mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite/Google Workspace and HRIS.

• Provide proactive advice on employee and industrial relations issues, interpreting relevant awards and legislation.

This role is accountable for delivering the people plan, delivering operational excellence and contributing to the achievement of the key people metrics. The People Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, driving effective people practices and fostering a positive workplace culture, driving organisational outcomes and maximising people impact on business goals.

Position Accountabilities

• Drives the delivery of the functional People Plan in close coordination with the People Advisor.

• Maintain oversight of end-to-end employee relations (ER) cases in collaboration with the People Advisor, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
• Provide proactive advice to leaders on employee and industrial relations issues, interpreting relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and legislation.

What experience you’ll bring
