Job summary

Piper Alderman is seeking a passionate HR professional to join as People & Development Manager on a fixed-term 12–14 month contract in our Adelaide office. You will partner with Partners and leaders across legal and business services to manage the full employee lifecycle and provide strategic P&D guidance, including talent and leadership development, engagement, and organisational change.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field.
• Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a HR generalist or business partner role.
• Strong understanding of employment legislation and award interpretation.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and diverse client groups.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor, managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance, ER and offboarding.
• Partner with senior leaders to support firm people strategies.
• Manage P&D delivery and engagement across legal and business services groups.
• Support planning and delivery of early careers activities including clerkships and graduate onboarding.
• Lead national P&D projects aligned with strategic priorities.
• Coach and influence leaders to embed a high-performance, inclusive culture.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in P&D processes, policies and systems.
• Drive local initiatives to support engagement, wellbeing and development.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
