Job summary

Airswift is seeking an experienced Materials Buyer & Expeditor to support procurement and materials management for shutdown and operational needs in Perth, WA. The role focuses on sourcing, purchasing, expediting, and coordinating timely delivery of materials and equipment.

The successful candidate will collaborate with operations, maintenance, logistics, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure supply continuity, safety, and cost-effective procurement outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in oil & gas, energy, mining or heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience supporting shutdowns, maintenance campaigns or project procurement.
• Strong understanding of sourcing, procurement, contract administration, and materials management.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, equipment, and inventory items from local and international suppliers.
• Prepare and manage RFQs, including supplier evaluations and commercial assessments.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms to achieve the best commercial outcome.
• Raise and administer Purchase Orders through SAP, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve technical, commercial, taxation, insurance, HSE, and legal matters.
• Maintain complete procurement records and audit trails.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Facilitate resolution of invoice queries with Accounts Payable and suppliers.
• Provide procurement advice and support to internal stakeholders and team members.
• Expedite purchase orders to ensure delivery commitments are met.
• Monitor long lead and critical items for shutdowns and operations.
• Run and analyse Material Status Reports and open PO reports in SAP.
• Coordinate with suppliers for production schedules and delivery updates.
• Collaborate with logistics providers to ensure timely transport and receipt of materials.
• Support urgent expediting requirements while maintaining SAP records.
• Engage with Quality teams on supplier documentation and compliance.
• Track supplier performance and contribute to improvements in SIFOT and TRLT.
