Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a senior IT leader to oversee Planning & Delivery for a large Queensland local government organisation. You will lead a team of about six IT professionals across business partnering, architecture, project management and service design, aligning initiatives with organisational priorities and community value.

Reporting to the CIO, you will drive strategic planning, governance, budgets and vendor relationships while delivering reliable IT services, ITIL-aligned operations

Qualifications

• Extensive IT experience across multiple disciplines, including project management, vendor management and IT service delivery.
• Proven track record leading and developing IT teams with accountability and strong working relationships.
• Experience managing complex technology projects from planning and governance through to implementation and reporting.
• Strong IT service management knowledge, particularly service operations and service transition in an ITIL environment.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts, vendors and competing priorities to achieve business outcomes.
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, influence decisions and translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
• Postgraduate business management qualifications will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a diverse team of IT professionals across business partnering, architecture, project delivery and service design.
• Oversee governance and delivery of complex technology projects within scope, budget and timeframes.
• Translate organisational needs into technology initiatives and service improvements.
• Contribute to the organisation's Digital Strategy and corporate priorities.
• Oversee IT service operations and service transition aligned with ITIL practices.
• Manage IT budgets, expenditure, contracts, vendors and assets to improve value and performance.
• Build relationships across the organisation and with external partners to support technology delivery.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across systems, processes and delivery models.
• Support business continuity planning and response to disruptions affecting critical services.
• Provide advice and reporting to senior leadership on project delivery, service performance and budgets.
