Job summary

UNSW is seeking a Communications Officer (Internal) to provide dedicated internal communications support for major university initiatives, organisational change and sensitive matters. You will work within Corporate Communications to deliver clear, timely messaging across internal channels and staff audiences.

The role will initially focus on communications related to UNSW's Enterprise Agreement bargaining process, with opportunities to contribute to other university-wide initiatives and change

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, journalism or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering communications for significant organisational initiatives or change within a large environment.
• Experience using multiple channels and platforms to maximise audience reach and engagement.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work with senior leaders and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated internal communications support for major university initiatives and change programs.
• Develop, edit and distribute high-quality internal communications content (Inside UNSW, staff emails, scripts).
• Ensure messaging is accurate, relevant and consistent across internal channels.
• Advise stakeholders on the most effective channels and approaches for staff communication.
• Coordinate meetings, approvals and publishing schedules to meet timelines.
• Analyse performance data to continually improve internal communications impact.
